Our MissionHealthcare Alliance for the Homeless’ Mission is three-part: Service, Education, and Advocacy.
Service: We work with our community partners in the Boston area to identify volunteering opportunities dictated by the needs of the community for Tufts members to participate in and improve the health and wellness of Boston’s Homeless population.
Education: We strive to increase awareness in the Tufts community of the healthcare needs of homeless persons. In addition, we provide opportunities for the Tufts community to learn about the actions and strategies implemented by individuals currently working with homeless persons to better their health and wellness.
Advocacy: We aim to foster a spirit of advocacy among Tufts community members in order to improve healthcare systems and policy related to the wellbeing of people experiencing homelessness. We hope to connect students with advocacy groups on a local and national level and provide students with opportunities focused on structural improvement.
